Honest Illusions

Honest Illusions - Nora Roberts I was sixteen when I read this for the first time. It captivated me. Wowed me. And I was instantly in love. All these years later, it's still one of my all time favorites. I love the story. Love the characters. Love the way it takes you back where it all started, and lets you see the kids that they were, growing up and falling in love, being a family and making a family for all those unfortunate souls.Nora Roberts guides you through the world of magic and illusions, and shows you raw feelings of an abused child, love that makes him heal, family that sticks together, people that are real - no smooth edges, no simple answers, no "what you see is what you get". There are no fairy tale personalities. These are all flawed, flesh and blood characters, that are that much more appealing and lovable, despite their shortcomings. This is a story about love, trust and acceptance.Roxy and Luke, Max and Lily, Mouse, LeClerc... there's so much life in each and every one of them. So many details, such a good mix of different, and yet strangely compatible personalities. This couldn't have been any better.Honest Illusions is a beautiful story, that will captivate you, make you laugh, cry, and love before you even have time to think it through. Don't miss it. It gives so much, it's damn worth a try.
